BOAVISTA STUDENT COMMUNITY GETS NEW SCHOOL

Inserted in the Social Responsibility actions of SONILS, it was inaugurated on February 26, by His Excellency the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Pedro Azevedo, and by His Excellency Minister of Education, Luísa Maria Grilo. The Primary Education School Complex, Iº and IIº Cycle of Secondary Education nº1235, sponsored by SONILS.

The event was attended by the following entities: Secretary of State for Oil and Gas, José Barroso, Provincial Governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem, PCA of Sonangol, Gaspar Martins, PCA of the Port of Luanda, Alberto Bengue, Administrator of SONILS, Osvaldo Inácio, as well as the Governing Body of SONILS, among other guests.

In his speech, Minister Diamantino Azevedo, said, that they are investing not only in infrastructure, but in the future of Angola, “I ask, and possibly it is not necessary to those responsible for this school, the students, the community, to preserve the school, to take care of its maintenance”, on the same occasion, the governor reaffirmed the commitment of the oil companies, and their subsidiaries to invest in the development of the communities where they operate.

In turn, the Minister of Education Luísa Grilo, expressed words of joy, “this is a great investment with a certain return, SONILS will not regret the amounts it invested in this space”.

The school has the capacity to accommodate more than a thousand students divided into three shifts, the infrastructure also has 15 classrooms, a library, a multipurpose field, administrative facilities, parking with capacity for 20 vehicles, among other services.
