SONILS PARTICIPATES IN THE 2ND EDITION OF THE NAMIBIAN OIL AND GAS CONFERENCE

As part of the internationalisation strategy, SONILS participated in the second edition of the Namibia Oil and Gas Conference, which took place from August 20 to 23, with the theme “The Next Steps to a Prosperous Oil and Gas Industry”.

The event, which had more than 800 participants working in the Oil and Gas sector, focussed on fundamental issues such as sustainable development, investment opportunities in the oil sector, technological advances and development of local content.

SONILS, was present with the participation in discussion panels where Director Pedro Oliveira addressed the theme “Feeding the future of Namibia: creating the energy value chain in Africa and a sustainable and fair transition” and Director Joaquim Chipuco, contributed to the panel “Infrastructures and logistics: Building a sustainable ecosystem in Namibia and world-class so that companies, industries and economies thrive in Sub-Saharan Africa”.

During her opening speech, the Deputy Minister of Mines and Energy, Kornelia Shilunga, highlighted the importance of efficiently managing Namibia’s oil resources. As well as the fundamental role of companies, to ensure the prosperity of the country, thus contributing to the economy and development of local content.
