1ª EDITION OF THE AFRICAN FAIR
Within the scope of its Corporate Social Responsibility, SONILS organized on its premises on May 24, the 4th edition of the African Fair, with the aim of strengthening Africanity, valuing and supporting young entrepreneurs and highlighting Angolan culture.
The opening of the event was held by the Director of Human Capital, Dilma Baptista, who in turn reinforced the need to think for the effective development of the African continent.
The event was attended by approximately 28 national exhibitors, who presented various products, such as handmade pieces, books, accessories, paintings, African costumes, local delies, field products and various goods produced locally. The African Fair was brightened with several cultural attractions, between trova and poetry dedicated to the cradle continent.
One of the highest moments of the event was the offer of a painting called SONILS “The Sun that shines for all”, presented by the plastic artist Mussungo. At the time of receiving the painting, the Deputy Director General, Paulo Henriques, appealed to those present to experience Africa every day.
History of Africa Day
Africa Day is celebrated annually on May 25, it is considered Africa Day because it was on this day, in 1963, that the Organization of African Unity (OAU) was created in Ethiopia, with the aim of defending and emancipating the African continent, the cradle of humanity.
